So, I was lucky enough to come across a free Rancilio Silvia V2. Everything works great, really, aside from the steam wand leaking. I quickly realized this was because the knob was basically stripped, so you can't open or close the valve.
Unfortunately, this ruins everything since having the valve leaking while you're making espresso throws everything off. The espresso was still good but it could be better, I'm sure. And besides, if I want to use the steam wand, I'd like to be able to.
I know I can buy a replacement knob, but I was wondering if anyone on here has experience with the Rancilio Silvia and has a better solution other than just replacing a cheap plastic knob with another cheap plastic knob.
