Hey r/coffee, I'm a college freshman with a automatic burr grinder and an automatic coffee maker. I know the general recommendation is to grind beans immediately before making coffee, but my burr grinder is extremely loud and the walls of my hall are very thin. Rather than making a huge commotion daily, I figure it might be smarter to grind my coffee for the week and store the ground beans in an airtight container. Would this compromise the flavor and freshness of the beans too much, even when locked airtight?
