Aeropress problem, not able to even apply pressure because the coffee just leaks through the filter before I can.

I've used both the original method and the inverted method, this happens both times, also happens with every coffee brand I try. After adding hot water to the ground coffee in the aeropress, I wait 1 minute (even tried 2 minutes same thing happens) and then invert the aeropress, before I can even apply pressure the coffee goes right to my cup before even allowing me to complete the pressure step of the aeropress.

Thanks for the help, been struggling with this since I got it.
