I've been pretty disappointed with my coffee these days, and thought I'd share my process and materials with you all for some troubleshooting. My primary complaint is that my coffee tastes super weak (watery), unbalanced, and uninteresting. I usually order Starbucks Blonde from the retail stores (the drink, not the beans) and it tastes a lot better. Thoughts?
- Grind beans just before brewing ground slightly finer than drip, use one HEAPING Aeropress scoop.
- Boil water in electric kettle, wait 30 seconds after auto-shutoff.
- Bloom grinds for 10 seconds
- Water almost to the top of press, seal with plunger and pull up. Wait 1 min, 15 s (Note: Using regular (non-inverted) method).
- Unseal and stir, wait for another 45 s.
- Plunge over 20 s.
