This post maybe cringe worthy to coffee pros, and if so sorry. I'm not trying to make the best coffee, I'm just trying to make the coffee I've known and loved for a very long time.
I've moved from Canada to Ireland, I'm a long way from home. My mom has tried her best to help but somehow I just can't recreate the "mud" she does so well.
So the family calls my mom's coffee "mud". It's dark, barely transparent if it all when poured in a glass cup. It has a thickness to it...when I drink it, it feels like a meal. I could completely skip breakfast with just one of her coffees.
I know this sub loves the Aeropress, and the best I could do is a French press. I like the fact that it doesn't need filters and is less wasteful. Does anyone know how I could make Mom's "mud" coffee with the press, or maybe it can only be done with a drip coffee maker?
Thanks a bunch coffee aficionados!
