Does owning an espresso machine kind of ruin the experience of going out for coffee?

I've owned my espresso machine for about 8 months now, and in that time I've gotten pretty good at using it to make drinks just how I like them. I used to go out to cafes quite a bit, but now when I do I feel like, unless it's a higher end place, that the drinks I get never stand up to what I can make at home.

Now don't get me wrong, I love the social aspect and the whole world of coffee, but it becomes less enjoyable when you notice the espresso is over extracted, the milk is burned or the ratios are way off.

Am I becoming a snob? How do I make cafes more enjoyable without having to go to specialty places?
