I'm looking to do a cold brew with hops. I heard / rumblings about this in the past, but had a few hops left over from homebrewing (beer) and wanted to see if i could infuse them. I saw a really old post on this subreddit, but didn't give any recipe. EDIT: I did find one, here http://ift.tt/1KzZIUN
Here is my idea.
What you need. 1. Large Pot (needs to fit a gallon) 2. .5 Gallon of water or 2 Liters [filtered] 3. 300 Grams of coffee or 10.7 oz 4. .3 oz of Cascade(or Citra) hops
Cold Brew for 12-16 hours. The goal is get to 1 gallon of drinkable coffee. I am probably going to lose water to the coffee grinds, so probably expect .4 (ish) gallons to come out of the cold brew. I think I'm going to add water until I get to 1 gallon unless i only get .3 gallons from the cold brew than I'll just double the size to get to .6 gallons.
Once I have my cold brew, I'm going to dry hop it for 3 days with .3 oz of hops in the gallon of cold brew. I'll need to filter out the hops once they settle.
Wish me luck. Any advice would be helpful!
Will report back.
