I apologize. I am having a massive brain fart when it comes to this. Can someone please explain not just the concept - but logistically how I can do this so that when I'm really tired I can do this easily.
So I did a basic search on this and because I didn't want to be one of those people that posts the same question that everyone else asks 50 times per day. I found a lot of posts that say that the ideal ratio is 17.42:1 and the most common response I found was 16:1 or 18:1. Now I understand that its 18grams of water to 1gram of beans. The beans I understand. 18grams of water? So am I weighing the water? If so, am I weighing the water before or after I boil it? Is this the total amount of water that I will be pouring and consuming? - because I usually boil a little bit more than I drink, so that I can rinse my filter and to account for evap/steam etc. Can't I just do this in ml? how do grams of water equate to mls?
I have been doing about 4 scoops per 20oz cup up until now. I have a scale and thought I would like to start using it for beter consistency.
