Habanero in cold brew?

I went to a coffee shop once upon a time that had habañero-spiced cold brew coffee that they mixed with half-and-half and chocolate syrup. It was the best. I've been trying to figure out how to make it myself at home though and I'm having some trouble. I tried just leaving some dried habañero peppers in with the coffee while cold brewing it and didn't taste anything.

Suggestions?
