I've been in New York for the past two years and have had the fortune to visit some awesome coffeehouses - Stumptown, Café Grumpy, Birch, etc - and loved them all; they've actually been the places that have gotten me into coffee. But then I look at some reviews online and see, "Oh, X coffee is shit, X coffee is much better" where X is any one of these places. I dunno, it may just be because I'm a relative noob, but once I get to that level of quality I honestly can't discern which cup is BETTER, just how they're different. So I guess my question is: how can you tell which cup is of better quality once you get to that point?
