I (with some friends) are going to be hosting a coffee cupping for a group of 8-10 people. The friends and myself are coffee enthusiasts, the other people have a range of interest, but no one in the group is a coffee professional. I'm probably the most knowledgeable amateur out of the group, having roasted myself for a few years now.
We originally scheduled a trained barista to run the cupping for us, but they've had to cancel because of a scheduling conflict. Rather than reschedule, I'm thinking of just running it myself, because it's more of a friendly learning experience and not about grading beans for purchase. I'd still like to adhere to SCAA guidelines as much as is practical.
With that being said, for anyone here who has hosted/run a coffee cupping like this -- how did it go? Any advice you can offer? Thanks!
