My partner just purchased a hair salon (we are in Canada), and one of the first things we're doing is upgrading the quality of coffee so that people aren't drinking hours old sludge.
We need to make it fast, cheap, and good. The salon is busy and the coffee is given out for free, so expensive beans are out of the question as they come directly out of the bottom line.
The first thing we did was order a Bunn My Cafe. It's a single cup machine that is supposed to mimic pour over coffee and brews a cup in just 42 seconds. It also gives us options - we can use straight up coffee grinds, soft pods, or a k-cup.
The soft pods would be the easiest. Very little cleanup, just drop it in, press a button, and done. However, obviously the freshness of the grinds would be an issue, and I'm not sure where we can source the soft pods in Canada. Any ideas?
Another option is to get a bunch of re-useable k-cups, fill them all up in the morning and use them throughout the day. This would allow us to use fresh grinds.
However, we still can't afford to use high end coffee. We aren't going to use enough to warrant going through a local wholesaler. So what's a coffee brand that will be "good enough" for the discerning tongue but won't break the bank?
