Can I make coffee directly into a big thermos using a Melitta pour-over or some such similiar device placed ontop?

I'm fairly new to the higher brow coffee world. I'm interested in trying to find a pour-over type of some manufactor (like Melitta, or V60, or ...?) and basically put it on a thermos like a hat.

I'm rather enchanted with trying a Chemex someday, but it occured to me that since I have to replace my old leaky work thermos anyway, maybe I could find a way to brew coffee directly into a new thermos and make life easier.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be great - I've spent the majority of my graveyard shift pouring over /r/coffee, amazon, coffeegeek... kind of afraid of the information overload.
