Blueprint and Sump Coffee in St Louis

I got a chance to visit Blueprint and Sump over the weekend when I traveled from St Louis with my wife who had business there. Both were good experiences, but Sump blew me away.

I had their award-winning Ethiopia Reko espresso which was out of this world and then followed it up with probably the best cortado I've ever had. It was super thick, the whole milk they use is exceptional, and there was a ton of caramel and it was just heavenly.

At Blueprint I had a very good shot of San Andres as espresso and their Karimikui AA Top as a V60, which was strangely un-coffee like. I'm excited to try that Kenya (they hooked me up with a bag) at home this week and compare it to the Compelling & Rich Karimikui Peaberry I had recently. Same farms, same station, different sort and roasting.

If you make it to/through St Louis you should stop at both places. If I had to choose one it would be Sump because they were firing on all cylinders when I was there, and Blueprint was awesome, too.

My full experience can be found here: http://ift.tt/1hjxarC.
