Adventures in espresso

So after buying and using pretty much every manual brew method (Moka-Pot, french press, V60, Aeropress, Clever, Chemex) my girlfriend very kindly decided to give me some money to buy an espresso machine for my birthday. I was able to pick up a Gaggia Classic for £70 (about $110), and have been upgrading parts/mods this week. I am stuck with a Hario mini (i know, i know save the abuse) but have been loving comparing shots after each upgrade. From buying a VST 20g basket, to doing the OPV mod, investing in a Reg Barber, and struggling with my limited grind adjustments, I made a shot this morning after changing the shower screen and gasket last night (and giving it the first back-flush its ever had), and wow! What a difference it was from when i originally got the machine!

I cant wait to see how much the espresso improves once i have found a good deal on a second hand grinder, but just wanted to say thanks for all the info everyone put into this Sub, and here's to good coffee!
